Led by experienced instructors, this hands-on course will teach you everything you need to get comfortable with the pottery wheel.

What You’ll Learn

In these beginner-friendly classes, you’ll explore a variety of essential techniques, including:

• Clay Preparation: Learn the basics of wedging and preparing clay for throwing.
• Centering: Master the crucial skill of centering your clay on the wheel to create balanced forms.
• Basic Throwing Techniques: Practice the techniques needed to throw simple forms, including bowls, cups, and vases.
• Trimming and Smoothing: Refine your work by trimming and smoothing edges for a polished finish.
• Introduction to Glazing: After your pieces are fired, you’ll learn the basics of glazing to add color and durability.

By the end of the class, you’ll have several finished pieces to take home and proudly display.

Class Details

• Wednesday’s: 1pm-4pm
• Dates: Mar. 5th, Mar. 12th, Mar. 19th, Mar. 26th, Apr. 2nd, Apr. 9th, Apr. 16th, Apr. 23rd
• Duration: 3 hours per session, once a week for 4 weeks
• Materials: All clay, tools, and glazes are provided
• Class Size: Small group setting to ensure personalized instruction
• Age Requirement: Suitable for ages 10 and up

We offer convenient payment options:

• Pay in Full: Register with a deposit of $45 online and pay the remaining balance of $245 on the first day of class.  The full discounted rate is $290 for the entire 8-week course.  This option provides you with all materials, instruction, and kiln firings and each class comes out to $36.25.
• Pay-As-You-Go: Prefer to pay per session? Register online and secure your deposit and pay $45 for each class as you go.  This flexible choice allows you to enjoy each class without the full upfront commitment on the first day.  This deposit is your payment for the first class.
• All deposits are non-refundable
