What You’ll Learn
Throughout the class, you’ll gain hands-on experience with a range of hand-building techniques, including:
- Pinching: Start with the basics of clay shaping by learning how to form simple bowls and organic shapes with pinching techniques.
- Coiling: Build larger forms, such as vases and planters, by stacking and smoothing coils of clay.
- Slab Construction: Create plates, trays, boxes, and other functional items by joining flat pieces of clay.
- Surface Decoration: Experiment with textures, carving, and adding decorative elements to personalize each piece.
By the end of the class, you’ll have completed a few finished pieces, ready to take home and enjoy.
