Basic Acrylic Classes In Southeast Michigan
Want to learn how to use acrylic paints? Then sign up for our four week course and get an introduction to a basic knowledge in acrylic painting. The cost of the class is $145 per person which includes two 16″x20″ canvases and paints for each of the classes. Brushes are supplied for the classes.

The acrylics class at Do Art Here covers how to mix your paints get values specific colors. Classes will also cover a little color theory and explain how to mix colors to get the fullest range from basic primary and secondary paints. Topics for beginners will be instruction in setting up a couple color sample swatches to get an idea of mixing colors for painting a subject. Learn how to prepare a canvas before painting to help you make better paintings and also learn how to fix small mistakes that may come up as you work. This intro class will also cover basic terms associated with different acrylic paints and other things like brush cleaning and care.
By the end of the class you will have a better understanding of how acrylic paints work and how to start using them to create art at on your own. The classes cover a series of small skill building exercises that help you work on developing techniques to do more complicated acrylic based artwork and become a better painter in general. The first class covers concepts and builds on those by practicing exercises while the second, third, and fourth class use those skills to paint a two acrylic paintings. The small paintings will focus on a process of techniques to achieve a desired look and feel.
Classes are in person at the Do Art Here studio and limited to 20 or less to make sure that you get the most out of the experience. The basics class will build a skill set that will lead into the next intermediate acrylics class.
